Established in 1893 by Henry Phipps, Phipps Conservatory quickly established itself as the Pittsburgh region’s premier horticultural display and education space. Since transferring from city to nonprofit management in 1993, Phipps has grown into an internationally-known green leader by introducing sustainable buildings and practices to its campus, all while honoring the tradition of horticultural excellence that it is known for.
